George Leach built his first guitar in 1988 and in 1994 he formed the Phoenix Guitar Company specializing in building custom instruments. He quickly became well-known for his artistry. During the next several years he further developed his skills and expanded his repertoire from nylon string guitars to include archtops and steel string acoustics. In addition, he began teaching lutherie classes.
In 2006 George moved his shop into a larger space in Scottsdale. He has since moved his business and lutherie school to southern California where he continues to teach his craft to others and build approximately 6 to 8 guitars per year.
