Lutherie has been Aaron Andrews’ life's work since the beginning. After graduating from Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie in 1994, he set up his first shop in a rental garage, and began designing, building, repairing, and restoring fretted stringed instruments of every age and description. He gained an extensive knowledge of the inner and outer workings of a vast array of instruments. This extensive history brought a depth of insight and experience to his true passion, which is building guitars of his own design.
Though he has built many unique electric and acoustic guitars for discerning clients, Aaron’s primary passion is building hand-carved archtops. Taking design cues from instruments of the past, an Andrews archtop is a highly evolved and unique guitar.
Aaron brings advanced engineering principles, impeccable craftsmanship and elegance of design into every guitar he builds, striving to produce guitars of superlative tone and playability. The instruments he is building now are a distillation of the best design ideas he’s found in classic instruments, re-imagined and evolved into higher form and function, as fine tools for the discerning buyer.
